Their debut single "Crayon Box" got some attention early on. They put out three albums: "Crayon Box" in 2010, "Kaleidoscope" in 2014, and "Spectrum" in 2019.
In 2013, Emily Carter had some vocal cord trouble that sidelined her for a bit, but she worked through it and kept singing. A couple years later, another artist accused them of plagiarism, which led to some public back-and-forth and legal stuff before it got sorted out. The band always said they didn't copy anything.
Their music pulls from indie pop and alternative rock, with the keyboard usually front and center. The name Combo Piano seems to point at that mix of sounds and the instrument's place in it.
