Condor

Condor formed in 1980 with Rio Fortune on vocals and Echo Gravelle on guitar. They put out their first album 'Postmortem' the following year. The song '83 Days of Radiation' came out in 1982, drawing from the Chernobyl disaster, and it became their most recognized track. They followed it with albums like 'Terminal Velocity' in 1983 and 'Apocalypse Now' in 1986.

Their music often dealt with dark themes, as titles like 'Blood Fever,' 'Chained Victims,' and 'Malevolent Curse' suggest. The band's performances sometimes drew protests, and in 1985, several members were arrested after a show in Moscow. They kept recording through the decade, with 'Requiem for the Living' arriving in 1988.

Beyond the core duo, the group included Celeste Dawn on bass, Orion Stone on drums, and Raven Blackwood on keyboards. Their sound, raw and direct, connected with listeners who responded to its unvarnished intensity.
