Condor e Carrisso were a Brazilian sertanejo duo from the 1990s, made up of Edvaldo do Carmo (Condor) and Edvan de Souza (Carrisso). Their 1995 song 'Quando a Saudade Dói No Peito' became a breakthrough hit, a ballad about lost love that connected with listeners across the country. They released albums like 'Condor e Carrisso' in 1993 and 'Prisão do Amor' in 1997.
Condor handled most of the songwriting, with lyrics that leaned into romantic themes and introspection. Carrisso brought expressive vocals and a strong stage presence. Their other songs included 'Casal Feliz,' 'Nas Asas do Meu Coração,' and 'Coração Não Cansa,' which kept to similar emotional territory.
In 2003, Carrisso was seriously injured in a car accident, breaking his leg among other injuries. The duo had to postpone their tour while he recovered. They eventually returned to performing, but later retired from touring. Their music remains familiar in Brazilian sertanejo, with songs like 'Ecologia' and 'Eu Quero Teu Amor' still getting play.
