Conjunto Legendario formed in Monterrey, Mexico in 1983, with Fernando Delgadillo as their vocalist. Their debut album 'Un Sueño Realizado' came out in 1986, and its title track helped them find an audience. The band's sound works with traditional Mexican conjunto instrumentation like accordion, bass, and drums, framing Delgadillo's vocals.
One of their best-known songs is 'Culpable Soy Yo,' a ballad from 1997. It's a straightforward heartbreak song that became widely popular. The band has recorded many albums over time, with other tracks like 'A Donde Vas' and 'Niña Bonita' also circulating.
In 1998, Delgadillo was injured in a car accident, which forced the band to pause touring for a while. They eventually resumed performing. More recently, there's been some legal discussion about the rights to the Conjunto Legendario name. The group has continued with Delgadillo, Eloísa García on accordion, Jaime Martínez on bass, and Carlos Fernández on drums.
