Conjunto Rienda Real formed in Monterrey, Mexico during the 1980s, with Lorenzo Herrera handling vocals. They worked in a Norteño and Tex-Mex style that found an audience fairly quickly. Their 1987 album 'No Me Di Cuenta' gave them a recognizable song of the same name.
Herrera's arrest and prison sentence in 1990 forced the band to stop for a few years. After his release in 1994, they got back together and recorded again, putting out albums like 'El Chacal' that same year. Other musicians who played with the group included Pedro Sánchez on bass and the Garza brothers, Jaime on drums and Manuel on accordion.
Their song 'Nadie Va A Pensar En Ti Mejor Que Yo' is another track people know. The band's story is tied up with Herrera's legal troubles, but their music from that period in the late 80s and mid-90s still gets played.
