Conjuntos Sonoros formed in Mexico City in the late 1960s, started by Mario Ruiz Armengol, José Guadalupe Esparza, and Humberto Cravioto. They had some early financial trouble getting started, which wasn't unusual for musicians at the time.
In 1970, they released "Súplica," a song written by Esparza. It's built around acoustic guitars, violins, and bongos, with lyrics about unrequited love. The song became their most recognized work.
After "Súplica," they kept recording. Their catalog includes albums like "El Amor de Mi Vida" from 1971.
