They played a mix of traditional Mexican music and rock and roll, with Valens' version of "La Bamba" becoming their most recognizable song. That recording took a Mexican folk tune and gave it a rockabilly arrangement.
After that, the Continental Orchestra kept performing with different musicians and put out albums like "Ritchie Valens' Last Album" in the 1960s. Their later work didn't get the same attention as the early material with Valens.
