Copla y Misterio

Copla y Misterio is a Spanish band that formed around Marina Rossell's vocals, José Miguel Vizcaya's guitar work, and Paco Ortega's percussion. They put out their first album in 2008, which included the song 'A Su Encuentro Madre.' That track became something of a calling card for them, a devotional piece that caught on with listeners.

Their sound mixes traditional copla forms with some electronic touches, which hasn't always sat well with purists. They followed that debut with albums like 'El Misterio de las Coplas' in 2011 and 'Silencio' in 2015. Other songs in their catalog include 'Pampa Salamanca' and 'Recuerdo de Hermano.'

By 2019 they had released 'Lágrimas,' their most recent record. The group's music has occasionally turned up in film soundtracks, and their lyrics tend to lean toward the spiritual or introspective.
