Archive material and source history
Coppas formed in São Paulo in 2004 with Edu Ribeiro on vocals, Thiago Ramil on guitar, Vinny Correia on bass, and Luciano Leães on drums. Their debut album 'A Vida nos Ensina' came out in 2006, and its single 'Meu Caminho' became a chart hit in Brazil.
They kept releasing albums like 'A Busca' in 2008 and 'O Som' in 2012, with Ribeiro's voice and their mix of pop, rock, and electronic sounds drawing attention. Some of their lyrics and live shows stirred up talk, but they built a following with songs like 'Nem Um Segundo' and 'O Que Vale'.
Ribeiro left in 2016, and the remaining trio put out 'Aurora' in 2018. By 2020, they had added vocalist Fernanda Vasconcelos and drummer Gabriel Levy to the lineup.
