My sexuality was scruffed like a dog at the base of my spine

Where my serpent hid in a basket made of fear and lies

My inner child was crying in the closet of that bedroom

That still haunts my dreams

What kind of mystery is festering in my memory?

As I'm just trying to be a woman?
