Coral Perseverança

Coral Perseverança formed in São Paulo in 1997 under the direction of Maestro Marcelo Cordeiro. They were a Brazilian gospel choir that built a following with their straightforward approach to religious music, avoiding the more elaborate production that characterized some contemporary gospel acts.

Their 2001 album 'Deus Trino' gave them wider recognition, with the title track becoming one of their most requested songs. Other popular recordings included 'Vamos Cantar' and 'Vem, Espirito Santo,' which maintained their focus on clear vocal arrangements and devotional themes.

While they faced some criticism from traditionalists who preferred more conservative gospel styles, the choir continued performing and recording through the mid-2000s. Their lineup included vocalists like Renata Mello and Priscila Alcantara, along with keyboardist Fábio Cordeiro, who helped maintain their consistent sound across several albums.
