The Train

I am as a free as the next man on the train,

Bound to the rails along the tracks of our own lives,

He utters not a single word, but I hear him all the same,

As his vacant look depicts the words portraying his own plight,

If there is one thing we share,

It's our enduring sense of loneliness,

Our unwillingness to admit that we have,

But one care,

To alleviate the troubled thoughts,

To mediate with the mind,

And regain a sense of self whilst we...

Roll on through the night,

Hear the chugging of our hearts,

As he looks up from his paper cup to assert that I'm still here,

He graces me with a half smile, whilst looking at the floor,

I ignore the call, the crackling speakers, as the train halts at my stop,

Sir I don't wish to vacate my seat, let me stay an hour more,

To cease all the internal feuds,

To release ourselves from solitude,
