Coro da RGE was a choir formed in the early 1970s as part of the Rio Grande do Sul State Police in Brazil. They started out providing music for official ceremonies. In 1976, they released their debut album.
Their version of the theme song for the American TV series "S.W.A.T." became a hit in Brazil, where it was called "SUAT." This recording gave them wider recognition.
José Luiz Gonçalves founded and conducted the choir. Their music included traditional Brazilian folk songs alongside more contemporary material.
