They were led by vocalist and songwriter Steve Fromholz, with John Hooker and Joe Ely also playing guitar and singing. Their debut album came out in 1974, and it included the song 'Have You Heard The News Today?' That track became their most recognizable single, reaching the Billboard Hot 100's top 10. They followed it with albums in 1975 and 1976, keeping a steady pace of releases through the mid-seventies.
