Cosmo Shock came out of São Paulo in the late 1980s. Their song 'Em Frente À Igreja' got attention in 1989, mixing punk and rockabilly with something local. The band had Zé Rodrix on vocals, Ronaldo Passos on guitar, Juliano Ferro on bass, and Alexandre Fontanetti on drums.
They put out records like 'O Despertar da Nação Subterrânea' in 1989 and 'Os Desempregados' in 1991. The lyrics in 'Em Frente À Igreja' talked plainly about a woman outside a church, which bothered some people at the time. They kept going with albums through the mid-90s, including 'Malditos' and 'Pequeno Dictador'.
