Archive material and source history
Crazy Crackers formed in the late 1970s with guitarist Johnny "Spaz" Campbell and drummer Bobby "Bones" O'Malley. They later added vocalist Sarah "Siren" Jones and bassist Ricky "Rambo" Richardson. Their debut album "Sonic Boom" came out in 1980.
That album included "Always On My Mind," which became their best-known song. They released several more records through the 1980s and early 1990s, including "Into the Fire," "Heart of Stone," and "Redemption."
O'Malley had substance abuse problems that led to rehab stays, and Campbell's political comments sometimes caused friction. The band was known for loud, energetic live shows.
