Background notes

Archive material and source history

Crazy Design formed in Buenos Aires in 1989 with Marcelo Corvalán on vocals, Alejandro Terán on guitar, Alfredo Toth on bass, and Guillermo Vadalá on drums. Their debut album came out in 1993, sharing its name with the hit single 'Ahora Que Te Vas.' That song became widely popular despite some critics pointing out similarities to work by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs.

They put out a few more records through the 1990s and early 2000s, like 'Rompiendo Cadenas' in 1995 and 'Extraños' in 2000. The lineup shifted over time, with Julián Infantino taking over vocals in 2005 and Sebastián Schachtel joining on guitar a couple years later. They also worked with other artists, including Andrés Calamaro and the Mexican band Maná.

Their sound, anchored by songs like 'Ahora Que Te Vas' and 'Bailemos,' found an audience with its straightforward rock approach and melodic hooks. The band's activity wound down in the later 2000s.
