Crimpshrine was a Danish band that formed in Aarhus in 1981. They played a mix of harsh electronics and distorted guitars that got labeled industrial punk, with Claus Larsen as their frontman. Their early years involved a lot of touring and releases on independent labels, and they developed a reputation for being a confrontational live act.
Their debut album 'Prayer of Despair' came out in 1984, followed by records like 'Hypocrisy' in 1985 and 'Sick of Being Sick' in 1987. One of their better-known songs is 'Along the Way,' which appeared on a 1985 EP of the same name. Other tracks in their catalog include 'Another Day,' 'Bricks,' and 'Concrete Lawns.'
The band's lineup changed over time, with Larsen staying constant. Other members at points included guitarist Kristian Hoffman and bassist Flemming Rasmussen. They worked with Throbbing Gristle at one stage. Crimpshrine broke up in 1990.
