Crimson Glory formed in Sarasota, Florida in 1983, with guitarist Jon Drenning and vocalist Midnight (Wade Black) at the core. They were joined by bassist Jeff Lords, drummer Dana Burnell, and keyboardist Ben Jackson. Their debut album 'Transcendence' came out in 1986, featuring the track 'Painted Skies' that became something of a calling card for the band.
