Crimson Scarlet

Crimson Scarlet formed in the early 2000s, playing a mix of Gothic rock with ethereal textures. Their first album, "The Window," came out in 2003 and included the title track that became a familiar presence on playlists in that scene. The band had three members: Celeste Ravenwood on vocals and guitar, Ethan Nightwalker on bass, and Marcus Shadowbane on drums.

They followed with "Shades of Night" in 2005 and "Blood Red Moon" in 2007. The later work sometimes brought in symphonic metal and electronic touches. Their lyrics tended toward introspective themes, which occasionally drew criticism from more conservative listeners at the time.

Celeste Ravenwood's vocals were a central feature, often described as haunting over the band's atmospheric guitar and bass lines. Marcus Shadowbane's drumming provided a driving, dramatic foundation. They built a devoted following around this sound before activity seemed to taper off after the late 2000s.
