Cristina Marocco

Cristina Marocco started as a band called Romantika in the early 2000s, with Éric Francia on vocals and guitar, Guillaume Lorain on keyboards and programming, and Benoît Courtiol on drums. Their 2003 single 'A Côté Du Soleil' became an unexpected hit, mixing pop with electronic and world music elements. Later, bassist and vocalist Nikolas Economou joined to make them a quartet.

They released albums like 'Quelque Part' in 2006, 'L'Amour Fou' in 2009, and 'Human' in 2019. Songs such as 'Appelle-moi' and 'C'est La Vie' show their blend of atmospheric textures and rhythmic foundations. The music often carries introspective lyrics over catchy melodies.

Their sound evolved without losing its core electronic pop feel, incorporating more complex arrangements as the lineup expanded. They worked through the usual pressures that come with early success, keeping a steady output of albums into the late 2010s.
