Crossing Death formed in the Netherlands in the late 1980s with Erik Fleuren on vocals, Marco van der Hoeven and Koen Bouwmeester on guitars, Rogier van den Brand on bass, and Eric van de Poel on drums. They released a demo in 1990 but had trouble getting signed, building a following through live shows instead. Their debut album 'Perfect Dehumanization' came out in 1994 and got them a spot at Dynamo Open Air.
Their song 'Extreme Confusion' drew criticism from religious groups for its lyrics, which the band didn't back down from. They kept releasing albums like 'Demolition Hammer' in 1997 and 'The Ultimate Death Cohesion' in 2002, playing shows with bands like Slayer and Morbid Angel along the way. Other tracks in their catalog include 'First Times, Last Times' and 'Putrid Human World'.
Crossing Death put out 'Undivided Chaos' in 2014, continuing with the same lineup they started with decades earlier. Their music stayed heavy and technical, built around Fleuren's vocals and the twin guitar work of van der Hoeven and Bouwmeester.
