Crowhead formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1990. The original lineup included vocalist and guitarist Shane Embury, bassist Steve DiGiorgio, and drummer Pete Sandoval. Their early sound drew from the aggressive extremes of death metal and grindcore.
Their debut album 'Time Heals Nothing' came out in 1991, followed by 'Necrosis' in 1994 and 'Damnation' in 1996. By 2002's 'The Dreaming Tapestry,' they'd shifted toward more melodic and atmospheric territory. Songs like 'Eternity' and 'Fire Eye' show that evolution.
DiGiorgio left the band in 1992, and Embury took over bass duties for a time.
