D-51 was a Japanese band that formed in the early 1990s, starting as a duo called "D" with Takahiro Moriuchi on vocals and guitar and Yoshihiko Ando on bass and vocals. They later expanded to a trio called "D3" with guitarist Satoshi Kurosaki, and eventually became a five-piece with drummer Satoshi Kobayashi and keyboardist Kohtaro Ito.

Their 2002 debut single "Brand New World" became a major hit, serving as the opening theme for the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. Other songs like "Harmony," "Hibiscus," and "Kaze no melody" followed in their catalog.

They released albums including "D-51," "evolution," "Neo Genesis," and "Infinity."
