Their early single "Hommes...Femmes" got attention for its melodic hooks and lyrics that played with gender roles. The band's sound mixed new wave and synth-pop with some rock elements, built around Daho's writing and Turboust's guitar work.
They released albums like Le Grand Sommeil in 1985, Pop Satori in 1986, and Eden in 1988. A 1986 television performance of "Hommes...Femmes" was censored, which only made more people talk about the band. D Dy kept putting out records through the early 1990s, including Paris ailleurs and Corps et Armes in 1996, the year they stopped working together.
