D-Flame

D-Flame formed in 1998 around frontman Basstard, whose real name was Jan Willem van Eelen. The band mixed hardcore punk with heavy metal and industrial sounds, creating a rough-edged style that didn't fit neatly into radio formats or major label expectations. Their debut album was simply called 'D-Flame,' and they followed it with records like 'Two,' 'Til the End,' and 'The Answer.'

Songs like 'Daddy Groove' and 'Basstard' carried the band's heavy, confrontational energy. Basstard wrote lyrics that dealt with alienation and addiction, delivered with a rebellious intensity that some listeners found provocative. The lineup included guitarist Johan van der Meulen, bassist Rogier van der Velden, and drummer Dennis Leidelmeijer at various points, with other musicians rotating through.

They worked with DJ Noise and Evil Activities on collaborations, bringing electronic elements into their sound. The music wasn't designed for broad appeal, but it found listeners who responded to its unpolished directness. D-Flame kept recording and playing shows through the early 2000s, maintaining their particular blend of aggression and industrial texture without softening the edges.
