D-Watch

D-Watch was a punk band from New York City that formed in the late 1970s. Their debut album '34 Dead St.' came out in 1981, with the title track becoming one of their most recognizable songs. The band's lineup included Scott McCloud on vocals and guitar, John Hannon on guitar, and Scott Morgan on drums.

Their sound had the raw energy of punk but with melodic elements that made songs like 'Against All Odds' and 'Any Day Now' more accessible than some of their contemporaries. They released several albums through the 1980s including 'Night of the Living Dead' in 1982 and 'Final Curtain' in 1987.

While they never achieved mainstream commercial success, D-Watch developed a following in underground circles. Their music dealt with darker themes of urban life and personal struggle, which connected with listeners who found more polished punk offerings less compelling. The band's influence can be heard in later punk and alternative acts that blended melody with harder-edged subject matter.
