D.a.d.

D.A.D. formed in Aarhus, Denmark in 1982 with Jesper Binzer on vocals and guitar, Stig Pedersen on guitar, Peter Jensen on bass, and Laust Sonne on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1984, mixing hard rock with punk and glam elements that felt different from what other Danish bands were doing at the time.

Their third album, "No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims" from 1989, broke them internationally. The single "Burning Star" became a hit, and the record's raw energy got them attention outside Denmark. They've put out a dozen studio albums since, including songs like "A Good Day (To Give It Up)" and "Laugh 'n' A 1/2."

The lineup changed in 2001 when Claus Lunde took over on drums. They're still playing and recording, but the biography here leans too hard on words like 'legendary' and 'indelible mark.' What's clearer is that they've been a steady rock band from Denmark for over forty years, with a sound that never quite fit neatly into one category.
