Editor's note

Dae Guk Nam Ah, the Korean rock band called The Boss

A 1990s pop-rock group that kept going through lineup changes and a plagiarism dispute.

For a quick sense of their sound, try 'Blue Sky' or 'It's Already Come To An End.' They're both pretty representative.

They had a knack for straightforward, melodic songs that stuck around. Tracks like 'Blue Sky' and 'Pretty Smile' show their blend of pop and rock. Even with the 2003 plagiarism talk over 'The Reason I Live,' they kept recording until 2006.

Lee Sang-Min and Shin Yong-Jae started the band in 1995, with Kim Kyung-Rok and Park Yong-Man. Shin Yong-Jae left in 2001, replaced by Jung Sung-Ha, and they put out songs like 'It's Already Come To An End' and 'Shine.' They called it quits in 2006.

Dae Guk Nam Ah, sometimes called The Boss, formed in 1995 with vocalist Lee Sang-Min and guitarist Shin Yong-Jae. They had a bassist named Kim Kyung-Rok and a drummer named Park Yong-Man. Their debut single 'I Want to Snatch You Away Right Now' did well enough to get them started.

Shin Yong-Jae left in 2001, and Jung Sung-Ha joined on guitar. They kept making music that mixed pop and rock, with songs like 'Blue Sky' and 'Pretty Smile' in their catalog. They also recorded 'It's Already Come To An End' and 'Shine'.

In 2003, there was some talk about plagiarism involving a song called 'The Reason I Live,' but they kept working. The band stopped in 2006. People still listen to their records.
