Daff Horse formed in Madrid in the late 1980s, originally calling themselves Los Piratas. The band was founded by vocalist and lyricist Josu García, who has been the only constant member through various lineup changes that included bassist David Hernando and drummer Jesús Laborda at different points.
Their third album, 1993's "De Estirpe Arribista," became their breakthrough. The title track's lyrics about social inequality connected with Spanish audiences, and other songs from that period like "Desde La Cúpula" and "Sectas de La Resignación" became part of their catalog.
Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism from conservative quarters. They've released six studio albums total, including "El Mundo Se Acabó" and "El Oso."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
