Dai Neres

Dai Neres came out of Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s. Their song "Homem Sem Paixão" got attention around 2005, with its straightforward lyrics about a man without passion. Other tracks like "A Saudade Tá Me Matando" and "Mulher Gosta É de Vagabundo" followed a similar pattern of direct, sometimes sentimental storytelling.

They put out a few albums, starting with a self-titled one in 2005 and including live recordings and studio work through 2020. The band has Dai on vocals, with Thiago Faria on guitar, Bruno Amendola on bass, and André Siqueira on drums. Their music tends to work with basic Brazilian rhythms and pop structures, without much fuss.

In 2008, there was some kind of legal issue over publishing rights that slowed things down for a bit. They kept making music anyway. Songs like "A Bebida É a Solução" and "Eu Agora Vou Dançar É Brega" are typical of their output, uncomplicated, melodic, and aimed at a broad audience.
