Daisycutter formed in 1967 in California, with a lineup that included vocalist and guitarist Ethan "Walrus" West, bassist Marcus "Mad Hatter" Stone, and drummer Austin "White Rabbit" Carter. They developed a following in the San Francisco Bay Area with live shows that featured kaleidoscopic light shows and psychedelic projections.
Their debut album "Through the Looking Glass" came out in 1968. The track "I Am the Walrus" from that album became particularly well-known for its surreal imagery. They went on to release two more albums, "Strawberry Fields Forever" in 1969 and "Magical Mystery Tour" in 1970.
By the early 1970s, the band was dealing with internal tensions and personal struggles that eventually led to their dissolution.
