Dakona formed in 2005 with Jonathan Buckner on vocals, Paul Taten on guitar, John Underwood on bass, and Mark Mundt on drums. They released their debut album 'In God's Name' in 2007, which included the title track that became one of their most recognized songs.
Their music often dealt with themes of faith and doubt, which sometimes drew criticism from parts of the religious community. The band followed up with a second album called 'The Lost Art of Not Forgetting' in 2010, and later recorded a live album at Asbury Park in 2012.
