Dali's Car

Dali's Car formed in 1985 with Mark Winchester on vocals and guitar, Thomas Reed on bass, and Michael Peters on drums. They put out a few albums in the 1990s, including 'Stone Circle' in 1993 and 'Cornwall Stone' in 1995. Their sound had some post-punk and shoegaze textures, with Winchester's vocals often floating over hazy guitar layers.

Songs like 'Cornwall Stone' and 'Moonlife' show what they were doing, melodic but drifting, not quite fitting into any one scene. They developed a cult following among listeners who liked that kind of atmospheric, slightly experimental rock. Winchester had some personal struggles that affected the band's stability, and their music was never really aimed at mainstream acceptance.
