Dallakjan formed in Buenos Aires around 2005 with Mariano Castro on vocals, Nicolás Basile on drums, Gonzalo Díaz on guitar, and Pablo Baur on bass. Their music pulled from punk rock, cumbia, and electronica, which gave them a different feel from a lot of what was happening locally at the time.
Their debut album was called 'A 7 Palmos' and came out in 2008. That title track, along with songs like 'Estado Esgotado' and 'Manipulado', became central to their sound. They kept releasing records through the 2010s, including 'El Perfume de los Cuerpos' in 2011 and 'Pura Sangre' in 2014.
The lyrics in their songs sometimes addressed social or political topics, which led to some friction with more conservative listeners in Argentina. They worked through that while continuing to put out music, with 'Cuerpos Celestes' arriving in 2018.
