Dallas Band formed in Dallas, Texas in the early 2000s around vocalist Rodrigo Castro and guitarist Douglas Oliveira. Their music pulls from pop, rock, and sertanejo, a traditional Brazilian genre, with lyrics that lean toward the introspective. They've mentioned Ed Sheeran, U2, and Coldplay as influences.
Their 2008 single "Ainda Há Tempo" became a radio hit in Brazil, helping push the band to wider recognition. That song appears on their second album, also titled Ainda Há Tempo, which followed their self-titled 2007 debut. They've since released two more studio records: Tudo Que Eu Quero in 2011 and Acústico in 2015.
In 2012, Oliveira was seriously injured in a car accident, forcing the band to cancel shows. A few years later, in 2016, a former member accused Castro of sexual misconduct, though Castro denied the allegations and no formal charges followed. Other songs in their catalog include "Universo Distante," "Quando Percebi," "Sininho," and "Ventania."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
