Dallas Holm

Dallas Holm started making Christian music in the early 1970s, putting out his self-titled debut album in 1972. He was born in Dallas, Texas, and grew up singing in church. By the late 1970s and early 1980s, he had released albums like 'On the Edge' and 'The Way the Wind Blows.'

His song 'Against the Wind' came out in 1981 and became his best-known work. It's a straightforward ballad about finding strength during hard times, and it connected with a lot of people in Christian circles. Other songs from his catalog include 'Heal Me' and 'What Will You Do?'

Holm's music blends rock and pop with gospel themes. He worked with musicians like guitarist Philip Keaggy and fiddler Mark O'Connor on various recordings. While some in the 1980s thought his sound was too close to mainstream music, he kept making records that way for decades.
