Damas do Nada

Damas do Nada formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1990s with four members: Patricia Marx, Geisa Vidal, Mariana Aydar, and Flavia Mendonça. They started as a Brazilian female rock band working with acoustic guitars and harmonies, though their lineup later included Laura Finocchiaro instead of Mendonça.

Their songs like 'Culpa, Mãe' and 'Inimigo Imaginário' often dealt with personal and social themes, sometimes drawing criticism for their direct lyrics about gender and family. The band released five albums between 1998 and 2012, including their self-titled debut and later records like 'Noite' and 'Canções do Exílio'.

Over time their sound incorporated elements of samba and bossa nova while keeping the vocal harmonies and introspective writing that defined their early work. They remained a four-piece group through their recording years, with Marx, Vidal, Aydar, and Finocchiaro handling vocals alongside various instruments.
