Damijaw formed in Lagos around 2015 as a quartet blending electronic production with Afrobeat rhythms. The group includes Damola Adefolahan on vocals, Ayodeji Owolabi on production, Abayomi Adedeji on bass, and Olusegun Oshiga on drums.
Their debut EP 'AOBUSA' came out in 2018, featuring the title track that became one of their better-known songs. They followed with the album 'Enitan' in 2019 and the EP 'Aiye Le' in 2021.
In 2020, their song 'AOBUSA' drew some attention when it was briefly accused of promoting drug use, though the lyrics reference fictional scenarios. Their other tracks include 'Dami-jo No Kyuuketsu Akuma' and 'Muryoku Na Jibun Ga Yurusenai'.
