Dan Reeder

Dan Reeder was born in 1981 in Independence, Missouri. He co-founded the orchestral pop band Polyphonic Spree in 2000, a group known for elaborate live performances with over twenty members. His solo work began with the 2003 EP 'Lost Horizons' and continued with the album 'Night Falls in a Vacuum,' which received some critical attention for its introspective sound.

In 2006, Reeder released 'Beachball,' a single that gained wider recognition. Other songs like 'Clean Elvis' and 'Food And Pussy' show his unconventional approach to songwriting, which tends toward abstract lyrics and experimental arrangements. He plays piano and guitar, drawing from a mix of influences that include classical, jazz, blues, and electronic music.

Reeder's music doesn't always fit mainstream expectations, but he has kept working on his own terms. His vocals are often described as haunting or ethereal, and he seems more interested in exploring unusual sounds than in commercial hits.
