Dancing With the Enemy formed in the early 2000s when Severin Maneval and Alec Rodriguez met at a local music festival. They later added drummer Mike Miles and guitarist Matt Cross to the lineup. The band released their debut album in 2006, followed by their sophomore album in 2008 which featured the title track 'Now It's Over.'
'Now It's Over' became their most recognizable song, connecting with listeners through its direct lyrics about relationships ending. The track received significant radio play and helped establish the band's presence. Other songs like 'Tetris' and 'The Arrival' also appeared in their catalog during this period.
The group faced internal tensions and creative disagreements at times, but continued working together through those challenges. They maintained a sound that blended rock elements with electronic touches, though they never became a mainstream commercial force.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
