Dang Mob formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1990s, with Dengue and Russo as the group's central figures. Their debut album "Família Frente: Quem Somos Nós?" came out in 1999, mixing hip-hop with funk and rock elements. The track "Sequência" from 2005 became particularly well-known for its commentary on police brutality and social inequality.
They released several albums over the following years, including "Em Nome do Pai, do Filho e do Espírito Bong" in 2003 and "O Incrível Mundo Hip-Hop" in 2007. Other songs like "Malokera" and "De Quebrinha" show their range within Brazilian hip-hop. Dengue handles production and MC duties while Russo focuses on lyrics.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
