Danger Mouse

Danger Mouse is the working name of Brian Burton, a producer who first got attention in 2005 with the collaborative album 'Danger Doom' alongside rapper MF DOOM. A year later, his 'Grey Album' mashup of Jay-Z's 'The Black Album' with The Beatles' 'White Album' became a widely discussed piece of work, even as it faced legal challenges.

He often works with other artists, pulling together different voices into a single track. You can hear this on songs like 'Belize' with MF DOOM, 'Two Against One' with Jack White, or 'Little Girl' with Julian Casablancas. In 2010, he formed the duo Broken Bells with The Shins' James Mercer, releasing a self-titled album that year.

Beyond his own projects, Burton has contributed to film and television soundtracks. His approach tends to treat the studio itself as an instrument, arranging and blending elements from hip-hop, rock, and other genres into cohesive, often atmospheric productions.
