A producer and a songwriter made one quiet, textured album before Mark Linkous died.
If you want the feel of it, try 'Insane Lullaby' or 'The Man Who Played God.' They're both quiet and a little broken, which is pretty much the whole mood.
Their 2010 album 'Dark Night of the Soul' is the main thing they left behind. It's full of songs like 'Grim Augury' and 'Every Time I'm With You' that blend electronic production with Linkous's fragile voice. The whole record has this somber, layered quality that feels like their particular corner of the late 2000s.
They started with a track called 'Revenge' in 2006. Then they made the 'Dark Night of the Soul' album, which came out in 2010. Linkous died that same year, so the album became their only full statement together.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
