Dangerous New Machine came together in Seattle in the early 2000s, with Quinn Lundberg out front. Their sound pulled from alternative rock and punk, with some electronic textures mixed in. The song 'Burn' became their most recognizable track, a raw piece that connected with listeners. The band's lineup included guitarist Ethan Locke, bassist Isaac Rosen, and drummer Noah Grey.
They put out two albums. The first, 'Burning Bridges' in 2004, featured 'Burn' and had an aggressive, direct feel. Their second record, 'Ashes to Ashes,' arrived in 2008 and showed a shift toward more reflective material. Songs like 'Skeletons' and 'I Wish' appeared on these releases.
In 2006, Lundberg was arrested on drug possession charges. The band took a break afterward, and Lundberg went through rehab. They returned to finish and release 'Ashes to Ashes.' The group's lyrics often dealt with personal struggles and social issues, which sometimes drew strong reactions.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
