A Texas band that mixed melodic hooks with hard rock energy since the late '80s.
For their early sound, 'Queen Of The Nile' from that first album still holds up. If you want to hear what they're doing now, check out 'New Anger' or 'Cure The Lane'.
They came out of Austin in 1987 with a sound that wasn't quite hair metal and wasn't quite Southern rock, but had its own rowdy charm. Songs like 'Teas'n, Pleas'n' from their 1989 debut showed they could write a hook you'd remember. They've kept at it through lineup shifts and reunions, still playing shows and putting out records like 'The Toxin' in 2019.
The band formed in Austin in 1987 with singer Kevin Steele and guitarist Scott Dalhover. Their self-titled debut on Chrysalis Records arrived in 1989, then they went through some quiet years before reuniting in 2007. Since then they've released albums like 'Hellbound' and continued touring with material from across their catalog.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
