Daniel Guitarelli came up in São Paulo, where he started playing music early on. He formed the band Limpe o Palco, Apague As Luzes in 1995 with guitarist Marcos Magri and drummer André Andrade. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1997, and the title track became one of his most recognizable songs.
That first record found an audience in Brazil with its mix of rock, blues, and psychedelic touches. Guitarelli's writing leaned toward the introspective, and tracks like 'Lugar Secreto' showed his preference for mood and atmosphere over straightforward arrangements.
He kept working with the band through a series of albums, sticking to his own approach even when it drew some criticism. The music stayed grounded in those early rock influences without trying to chase trends.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
