Daniel Ramos came up in São Paulo, where he started singing at local gatherings. His 2015 song 'Uma Chance' got attention for its direct lyrics and his delivery, which felt more like someone talking than performing. That track became his most recognizable work.
He's put out a few albums since then, including Separação in 2017 and Cicatrizes in 2019. There was some noise around plagiarism claims in 2017, but it didn't stick. Ramos has been open about dealing with addiction and mental health stuff, which comes through in the writing.
He plays with a band that includes Guto Graça on guitar and Lucas Rezende on bass. The music leans into MPB influences without trying to reinvent it. Ramos keeps the arrangements fairly straightforward, letting the vocals carry most of the weight.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
