Daniel Scisinio

Daniel Scisinio came up in Santos, a coastal city in Brazil. He started writing songs that pulled from samba and bossa nova, along with some pop sounds he heard growing up. In 2001, he put out 'Quando a Vida,' a single that caught on with Brazilian listeners and got some radio play.

That song helped him get noticed, though a few years later some critics questioned whether his work was too derivative. He kept writing and recording, putting out albums like 'Samba da Vida' and 'Caminhos.' Another track people remember is 'Velha Guarda.'
