Danielson is a musical collective that formed in Michigan in the early 1990s, led by Sufjan Stevens. The band has included his brothers Marzuki and Casey Stevens at various points, along with other collaborators like Pat McTighe and Jason Loewenstein. Their sound is hard to pin down, mixing folk, rock, and experimental pop in ways that feel both raw and carefully arranged.

Their discography includes albums like 'Woke on a Whaleheart' from 1995, 'Ships in the Rain' in 1998, and 'The Phantom Limb' in 2001. Songs like 'A no-no', 'Delírio', and 'Astronomia' show their range from cryptic, introspective lyrics to more melodic moments. They've maintained a cult following rather than widespread commercial success, which suits their unconventional approach.
